What is a Stiff Boom Crane?

A Stiff Boom Crane, also known as Telescopic or Straight Boom Cranes utilize a hydraulic winch to lift materials that are raised or lowered using the “boom”. The boom is the steel arm of the crane that holds the load of materials being moved. A Stiff Boom Crane can be maneuvered in 4 different ways. The boom can be rotated, extended, lifted, and the hydraulic winch can raise or lower.

What is a Folding Boom Crane?

A Folding Boom Crane, also known as Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loader Cranes, Picker Cranes, or Articulating Cranes, are engineered to work in tight quarters. A Folding Boom Crane consists of two booms (Main Boom and Outer Boom), which are attached by knuckles that allow the entire boom structure to move in and out, just like the knuckles in a human finger. Along with 360° rotation, and hydraulic winch. This allows for Knuckle Boom Cranes to maneuver in tight areas where other cranes would not be able to operate.

What is a Hydraulic Crane?

A Hydraulic Crane operates similarly to Stiff Boom Cranes, with the boom allowing to be rotated, extended, lifted, as well as the winch being able to raise or lower. Hydraulic Cranes provide unparalleled lifting power compared to other mobile cranes that rely only on electric or diesel motors to power the cranes, as the addition of an internal hydraulic system allows for the crane lift of heavier loads. Due to the many axles and outriggers, Hydraulic Cranes are extremely stable while providing an impressive lifting capacity.
